Position Summary: The Social Worker reports to the Director of Nursing, and is responsible for ensuring that the medically related emotional and social needs of the Clients are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state and local Standards, guidelines, and regulations. Essential Job Functions:
• Develops a comprehensive social history and psychosocial assessment that includes the resident's problems and strengths and preferences, including cultural, religious, and ethnic background and implications for the care plan.
• Orients Clients and families to the facility, its services, its service limitations, and Clients' rights.
• Participates in development of individualized resident care plans.
• Completes mandatory documentation within timelines established by applicable regulations
• Facilitates the social and psychological well-being of Clients and their families.
• Mediates issues that arise among Clients, families, and staff.
• Coordinates visits by facility mental health providers and makes resident referrals
• Plans discharges/transfers to ensure appropriateness and continuity of care for transfers within and discharges from the facility.
• Involves the entire facility in meeting Clients' psychosocial needs.
• Direct and supervise the work of all Case Managers.
• Participate in the interviewing, hiring and terminating of Case Managers by providing advice and recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
• Review each employee’s job performance on a yearly basis (or more often if necessary). Make recommendations to the Nursing Director regarding employee advancement and retention.
• Develop staff work schedule and assign daily responsibilities to ensure proper coverage for all shifts.
• Ensure that all shift duties are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with WestCare procedures.
• Participate in clinical staffing decisions regarding the Client’s current strengths and resources and their need for additional resources.
• Assists other WestCare staff as needed in a collaborative manner to promote cooperation and portray a professional image to the community.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Position Summary:

Position Summary:
Mental Health Technicians work under the supervision of a Counselor and assist with the delivery of individual, group and family counseling services and completion of documentation required for the clinical record including, but not limited to; implementation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP), daily notes and weekly reviews. Mental Health Technicians will attend interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide treatment throughout the client’s care. Looking for an LCSW with or without LCADC, to work at our three locations in Reno, serving adults with substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Work consists of clinical supervision, individual counseling, and group counseling with a variety of populations. Programs include male Veterans, Prison Re-Entry, Homeless, uninsured and indigent clientele in an inpatient detoxification and crisis stabilization center. Most counseling will be brief, and the expectation is for this individual to assist the overall organization as a part of the Northern Nevada team. Position is full time M-F, with benefits.

Full-time AmeriCorps Members will provide 1700 hours of hands-on service over a 12-month period at a WestCare affiliate serving veterans and their families (onsite and in the community).
