WestCare California will be providing services for their Crisis Psychiatric Response Services (CPRS) program to respond to designated hospital emergency departments within Fresno County in which adult or older adult mental health consumers are deemed appropriate for an assessment for involuntary psychiatric treatment pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5150, and to provide crisis intervention services and assessments to said individuals. WestCare California will provide these services Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7:30 am and 24 hours on weekend and County declared holidays.

  • Full time LCSW/LMFT positions available. Candidates must have a valid California license in good standing, ability to work any shift, valid CDL, Two (2) years of supervised social work experience in a health care setting, working directly with individuals, supervisory experience a must, ability to write and release 5150 holds. Salary $61,200 annually.

  • Part time and on-call available for LCSW/LMFT positions. Candidates must have a valid California license in good standing, valid CDL, Two (2) years of supervised social work experience in a health care setting, working directly with individuals, ability to write and release 5150 holds. Salary $30,000 annually.

Position Title: Program Director
Department: Bakersfield Program
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Salary: $52,000 per year plus benefits

Person in this position will provide clinical and administrative leadership and supervision to the program.

  • Function as a liaison to the Deputy Administrator and external groups and agencies in promoting inter-organizational collaboration including attending Board and Advisory Board meetings as required
  • Assist in grant planning and initiation of potential funding opportunities when required
  • Arrange for staff development, education and training activities
  • Implement Quality Assurance and Utilization Review systems that monitor the effectiveness of the treatment system
  • Assist in the development of program fiscal and budgetary tracking systems and implementation as well as providing the oversight and management of operating budget and program fiscal expenditures
  • Monitor compliance with all required standards, regulations, state and federal guidelines
  • Develop, implement and monitor procedures to meet agency policies and contract management including the preparation of comprehensive reports for funding or agency sources
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation. Perform any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field or equivalent experience and education combined
  • A minimum of three years supervisory experience with knowledge of program performance indicators
  • Management and administrative experience and capabilities
  • Must possess knowledge of chemical dependency, substance abuse and personality dynamics of the substance abuser
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • Possessing a current license or certification as a mental health practitioner is preferred
  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an Annual Tuberculosis test

Position Title: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor
Department: Families Foundation Program
Location: Fresno, CA
Salary: $14.18 per hour

Duties: Full time position, person in this position will be responsible for the counseling and case management of clients enrolled in the program.

Requirements:

  • Must possess knowledge of chemical dependency, substance abuse and personality dynamics of the substance abuser;
  • Must be in possession of a valid California Driver's License and be eligible for WestCare vehicle insurance;
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history background screening and receive clearance from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation;
  • Graduation with an Associates degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or a related field is required and registration in a certification program approved by the Sate of California is required; or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required along with experience consisting of three (3) years of providing direct substance abuse counseling services in a program licensed by the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and registration in a certification program approved by the Sate of California is required; or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required along with experience consisting of one (1) year of providing direct substance abuse counseling services in a program licensed by the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs along with a Certification in drug and alcohol counseling.
